Tasks & responsibilities
As a Functional solution architect WMS it is your responsibility to add new functionalities to the Navitrans WMS product suite. You do this as a coordinator with the development team (developers, testers). With you on board we want to bring the WMS product suite of Navitrans to a higher level. You plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions, optimizing Navitrans investments in Supply Chain Operations and Logistics Systems. This individual collaborates closely with business and IT leaders to align technology initiatives with strategic goals. Responsibilities include influencing changes in business models and processes through insightful technology perspectives and analytical approaches to decision making.
What do we expect from the WMS Solution architect at Navitrans, what are the key responsibilities:
- You have a clear view and vision where the transport & logistics (public warehousing) market heading add and what the demands are in the sector

- You have a lot of knowledge of the transport & logistics (public warehousing) market and the demands of the market and the demands of our customers
- You update your knowledge about the transport market frequently
- You monitor transport and logistics government laws (legalizations) to ensure compliance with safe, sustainable and maintainable solutions
- You are able to detect the important requirements, so that Navitrans can be distinctive compared to the competition
- Requirement management and roadmap:

- You gather all the WMS requirements via all the (internal- and external) stakeholders and put this in a long term planning based on priorities (business value/budget). External stakeholders are customers, prospects and partners (resellers)
- You can discuss and analyse the business requirements with a (or a group) of customers and detect the priority/urgency
- You are able to provide qualitative input for the roadmap for the WMS product suite (based on business value/budget)
- You can translate the demands of different customers in a generic solution in the end-to-end WMS solution, based on Microsoft 365 BC and linked to other relevant modules, so that all the customers can benefit of the new functionality
- You can translate the solution in to a structured ‘Functional Design’. Translate business- and technical requirements into actionable architectural blueprints to achieve business objectives
- You can make choices about which solution suits the best for the requirement, such as:
- Navitrans WMS and Microsoft Dynamics
- Power platform (power automate)
- Web-portal
- Third party software (embedded/external)
- Integration third party
- Other cloud/technology platforms
- You asses organizational and financial impacts of proposed architectural solutions
- You monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring solutions are scalable and meet client needs.
- You implement strategies for continuous improvement and feature enhancements
- You are reviewing new- or existing WMS product suite and give feedback about optimisations
- You can do structured make-or-buy analyses
- You can do structured Proof Of Concepts/Proof Of Values with potential partners
- You are able to outsource the development part to a third party, together with other team members

- You build effective relationships and collaborates with the Product Team, project managers and IT leaders to align the business roadmap with operational decisions
- You are able to work close with the functional WMS owner, the technical WMS owner, technical lead and with other people in the development team. The development team needs to create the technical analyse, do an estimation and the development of the solution
- You are able to work close with Q&A (Quality and Assurance) and guide them to do proper testing and make the right content (describing of the functionality, creations of video’s)
- Presentation and communication:
- You have presentation skills to present (internal and external) about the WMS product strategy, the WMS roadmap
- You can setup demo scenario’s and do demonstrations (internal and external) of the new functionalities
- You inform the progress and planning to the (internal – and external) stakeholders
- You detect bottlenecks in the process and come up with process improvements
